Masterclass Licht voor Regisseurs met gaffer Rik Vaessen

Light is a storytelling tool. And as a director, you don’t need to know how to build lamps to take control of it. On Friday 30 October, you’ll spend a full day working with Brabant-based gaffer Rik Vaessen in and around Natlab. You’ll learn how to translate a lighting idea from paper to set, and which questions to ask your DOP and gaffer. Beforehand, you’ll receive a scene. At home, you prepare a shot breakdown for your section and a moodboard focused on light. On the day, you discuss these, scout the location, and then light and shoot the scene in two directing teams. No DOP or camera experience is required. Participation costs €80.
